0801NHe walked offa the train and toppled onto the platform landing at the feet of
0801Na pair of cowboy boots.
0801N"How do you do, most sorry and all." Cowboy boots shrugs his shoulders and
0801Nstrolls away... all in a days work. He picked himself up and dusted down his
0801Nbones. Uncle Cornelius trailed onto the platform and shook him by the hand.
0801N"Now you a man, boy.", he whispers and leads the way onto his trailer,
0801Ncrawling upto the top oftha hill. Each of the five godchildren shake his
0801Nhands and takes his coat and his gloves, his shoes, his stick and his scarf.
0801NNo need to take cover form stromy weather at last. A roof that'll cover his
0801Nhead and sanded floorboards to stretch out on.
0801NGodchilds three and five serve up the drink, a shot of whisky in a polished
0801Ntumbler. He downs it and wheezes, grinding his stomach down into his
0801Narmchair. Cornelius follows suit and soon the two are emersed into
0801Nconversation. Much is said and much is told, but still he feels restless.
0801NWhen Billy comes down the line to see him it'll be different. Perhaps
0801NBilly'll bring the girl for him. Uncle Cornelius challenges him to a pistol
0801Nshoot out, lifts his gun and blows his own face away. I smile sadly for
0801Nthere's nothing to be said.
